Speech Smash
A free smash-and-say reinforcer for Speech-Language Pathologists. Kids tap for color and sound while you log trials, and correct productions unlock the play.
They say the word. They earn the smash.
A fullscreen play space where every tap becomes color and sound. Run it open for cause-and-effect play, or lock it behind correct trials and let the play break do the motivating.
Open Speech SmashBuilt for the drill-play loop
Trial + Reward mode locks the fun behind correct productions. Mark each trial with a tap or key press, and the play break unlocks itself.
Zero setup
No account, no downloads, no laminating. Open the page, pick a mode, and hand over the screen. It works on iPads, laptops, and touchscreens.
Session numbers included
Correct and incorrect trials, accuracy, play breaks, and session length are tallied as you go. Copy the report and paste it into your notes.
One screen, two ways to use it
Speech Smash borrows an idea every pediatric SLP already uses: the drill-play loop. The child produces the target, then earns a short burst of fun. The difference is that here the fun lives on the same screen as your trial data, so nothing interrupts the session.
A hidden therapist panel (hold the top-left corner for 2 seconds) controls modes, sound, themes, trials per play break, and the session report. Kids never find it by accident.
Every tap and key press fires confetti, emoji, and pleasant sounds. A safe cause-and-effect activity for toddlers and early intervention, with an optional setting that speaks a core word (more, go, up, pop) on every tap.
The screen shows “Say your word!” and a row of stars. You mark each production, and enough correct trials unlock a short play break. The child earns the smashing, and you get the trial data.
How to run it in a session
No manual needed. If you have used a token board, you already know the rhythm.
Pick a mode
Free Smash for open cause-and-effect play, or Trial + Reward for structured drill work. You can switch anytime from the therapist panel.
Mark each trial
Tap the check or X buttons in the bottom corners, or press C and X on a keyboard. Each correct production fills a star on screen.
Let the play break motivate
After the trials you set (3, 5, 8, or 10), the screen unlocks a timed smash session. When the timer runs out, it locks again for the next round.
Why a smash screen earns a spot in your toolkit
Reinforcers eat session time
Digging through a toy bin between trials costs minutes every session. A play break that lives on the same screen as your data keeps the drill moving.
The reward stays connected to the work
Because the play break only unlocks after correct productions, the child feels the link between saying the word and earning the fun.
Little hands can't break anything
Fullscreen, no navigation, right-click disabled, and a therapist panel hidden behind a 2-second corner hold. Pair it with Guided Access on an iPad and the screen is kid-proof.
Your data stays yours
No accounts and no tracking. The session report exists only on your device, and the copy button puts it in your clipboard for your own notes.
