Let’s Hear It For R! ~ Main Program Outline by Expressions Speech teacherspayteachers.com
This is a free outline detailing Expression Speech’s “Let’s Hear it for R!” protocol for speech therapy by Dawn Moore, MA, CCC-SLP.
I have not yet taken the full “Let’s Hear it for R!” course offered by Expressions Speech; this free resource has been an enormous help.
A good companion to this “Let’s Hear it for R” download is a free speech therapy BOOM Card deck entitled “R Nonsense Words” by Let’s Chit Chat. This BOOM Card speech therapy deck contains all of the R nonsense syllables used in Dawn Moore’s Let’s Hear it for R! protocol and has come in handy for remote speech therapy.
From the description on the Teachers Pay Teachers website:
- A program for Speech-Language Pathologists that have struggled with eliciting /r/ with their speech and language therapy clients and students.
- This /r/ articulation download will take the Speech-Language Pathologist through initial /r/ in a step-by-step process while avoiding “er”.
- The clinician is then directed on how to use initial /r/ to get to final /r/.
- The creator states that she has used the “Let’s Hear it for R!” program for many years and has seen great success, including with older students that had “reached a plateau.”
